We have been indoctrinated in the last 3 decades of IT to believe that a system slowdown, outage, failure, change, or anything that has material potential impact is intrinsically bad. Yet, on the software side we have been told to "fail fast, fail cheap" to "develop in production" to release and iterate and build as fast as possible without fear of the potential failure. And why? Because its the only way to keep pace with the demands that the business, the market, the consumer, and our customers place on us.
Spirent Communications has announced the availability of Spirent TestCenter WLAN test capability, with the highest-performing and most realistic 802.11 wireless local area network (WLAN) multi-client emulation scenarios available on the market today. Spirent TestCenter WLAN is used for functionality and performance testing of Access Points (APs) and end-to-end testing of WLAN ecosystems that include WLAN access controllers and gateways. It emulates a large number of realistic WLAN clients through both in-chassis Ethernet and WLAN test ports.
The biggest challenge to IOT is thus big data that requires an infrastructure that is capable of processing billions or more data points each second. If you thought e-commerce revolutionized the retail industry over the past two decades, something much bigger is coming over the next ten years and that is the Internet of Things (IoT). By deploying sensors and network connectivity to everyday physical objects like cars, refrigerators, television and buildings, it is possible to remotely connect, manage and engage with these entities in ways that are not possible today.

In any component-based framework you’ll need to implement component communications. The main principle is that components should be loosely coupled hence reusable hence testable. The mediator design pattern allows you to arrange component communications via “the man in the middle” so a component A never communicates with the component B directly. If a component needs data, someone will provide the data via bindings to the component’s input properties. Who’s this someone?Ain’t no business of the component. If a component needs to provide some data to the external world, it’ll emit events (with the data payload). Emits to whom? Ain’t no business of the component. Let whoever needs the data listen to the events from this component.

We are rapidly approaching a world where the bulk of datacenter day-to-day operations are automated. The major application provisioning tools are integrating with infrastructure vendor APIs to give operations the power to control and monitor the datacenter – including things like SAN and networking gear – through their systems. To my mind this is a very cool development, but before we rush headlong into this world, let’s have a frank discussion about the nature of infrastructure, the nature of these integrations, and the nature of hackers. Because it’s never all sunshine and unicorns, and automation is no exception.
Over the years we've seen a push in the software industry for tighter release schedules and a more agile development process. As a result, departments that used to function independently in a waterfall development environment are now working more closely together in an accelerated release environment. For a company in the IT sector, a 20-year anniversary signifies that we have experienced and endured so many radical changes in the industry.
