Steve Jobs was on Apple’s Infinite Loop campus Monday according to both CNBC and Reuters. He has reportedly been spotted at Apple before but Monday was the first workday after the Wall Street Journal said that Jobs had a liver transplant two months ago.
This weekend I was in New York before this weeks SYS-CON iPhone Developer Summit and I happened to look into the Apple Store on 5th Ave.
The new application makes use of a femtocell's ability to detect home presence, sending someone a reminder message as soon as he or she arrives home. ip.access' "fridge notes" service works on any SMS capable handset, but the new iPhone version actually displays the messages on a virtual fridge, allowing the recipient to manage them just like real fridge notes. The message, which can be composed and sent using Facebook, can be unpeeled, moved to a corner of the fridge door, or removed altogether if the message is no longer relevant.

The integration keeps users more up-to-date through faster data access, and also enhances client software reliability. Perst Lite also slashed the development time of Movimiento’s new Salesforce Solution product by replacing “homegrown” data management code with a proven commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) embedded database system, Movimiento's general manager said.

Today is the day that we will see, if there will be a repeat of the same rush to own an iPhone 3G S, as previous releases of the iPhone experienced.
The new functionality in Evernote 3.0 was achievable thanks to technologies made available in the iPhone 3.0 software, such as the iPhone Clipboard, MapKit, CoreData and others. The iPhone Clipboard allows for advanced integrations between Evernote and other iPhone applications. MapKit was used to create the new Map View, which plots notes on a map and filters them based on map zoom level. CoreData allows the application to display a smooth-scrolling list of thumbnails for tens, hundreds, or thousands of notes without requiring the user to reload the page.
Today is the day that iPhone OS 3.0 is available to the masses for download... On May 6th 2009, after a few rapid cycles, iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 was released for general consumption, still within the iPhone Developer Program and under NDA. Though the big news that accompanied it, was that Apple would no longer be accepting any iPhone or iPod touch applications that were not compatible with iPhone OS 3.0.To quote Apple's email... "Beginning today, all submissions to the App Store will be reviewed on the latest beta of iPhone OS 3.0. If your app submission is not compatible with iPhone OS 3.0, it will not be approved."

The second is SpeakerSite. Set up by my friend Artie Isaac, it is a conglomeration of a lot of speakers on different topics. After I started my contract with MSDN I kinda dropped off their map, but I didn't lose touch with the people involved. Now, it turns out they are a big power in publising for cloud computing, along with their other assets. WOW... There is nobody like Apple to spring a few surprises and yesterdays WWDC 09 Keynote had some interesting announcements. I am not going to go into each in depth as there are enough websites out there that have, blow by blow.
As customers increasingly look to more functional devices to stay connected and informed, developers must be able to quickly adjust to the demands of the new platforms required to serve these users. Titanium addresses this need by delivering a single platform for mobile, desktop, and web development. Once built with Titanium, applications can be tested, packaged, distributed and analyzed through Appcelerator Network, a cloud-based suite of services for commercializing Titanium-based applications.
iPhone 3G S includes the new iPhone OS 3.0 software with more than 100 new features including: Cut, Copy and Paste; MMS; Spotlight Search to search across iPhone or within Mail, Contacts, Calendar and iPod; landscape keyboard for Mail, Messages, Notes and Safari(R); expanded parental controls for TV shows, movies and apps from the App Store; and the ability to capture and send audio recordings on the go with the new Voice Memo app. iPhone 3.0 software also includes a new Find My iPhone feature that works together with MobileMe so you can locate your lost iPhone on a map, send a message that will appear on the screen or play a sound to help you find it even if your phone is set to silent. If you cannot find your iPhone, you can erase all data and content on your iPhone with the new Remote Wipe feature. New iTunes(R) features available with iPhone 3.0 software include wirelessly downloading movies, TV and audio programs as well as iTunes U so students can download learning materials on the go.
It is now only 3 days until the most watched and waited for technical event of 2009... Apple's sold-out Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). WWDC 2009 is billed as the premier technical event for developers and IT professionals innovating with Apple platforms and I will not disagree with that.
