Sony's PlayStation 3 virtual world, Home, has experienced record levels of active users since the PlayStation Network was restored.
Speaking to Gamasutra at E3, Home director Jack Buser said: "We're having record traffic in Home. The week we restored the service, we hit a new record in terms of weekly unique users.
"We were watching the numbers and we were just so excited. We were just dancing in the streets," he added. "I think it speaks to the loyalty of our userbase, and to the power of these kinds of platforms."
The game seems to wed Critters (apparently by way of Raving Rabbids) and score attack, with the player's aim to hunt down the alien Killer Freaks. A CGI trailer shows plenty of evisceration delivered by a circular saw gun, while a released image shows a two-player mode. FPS play is delivered on TV, controlled by the Wii Classic Controller, while the Wii U controller delivers a top-down view for a 'game master' to play from the side of the Killer Freaks.

Porting the game, which is due for release next year, took five weeks. "Coming into the show we were ready to go," Bilson, executive VP of core games, told Eurogamer. "We could have demonstrated it on the hardware but they [Nintendo] decided not to have full games shown in the booth."
He went on to say the Wii U hardware isn't entirely finalised: "Some of it is still in flux. There are still some improvements to be made to some parts of it."
