Sony has confirmed that all aspects of its PlayStation Network and Qriocity services, including the PlayStation Store, will return this week.
The firm restored some elements of the service on May 15, but its online store and other elements involving customer financial information remained offline while Sony beefed up security. That process has now completed, and Sony’s online services will be back up and running this week worldwide, except for in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Online retail giant Amazon is now offering downloads of Mac software through its website.
The Mac Download section offers a host of games and software for the Apple platform, including some that Apple's own offering, the Mac App Store, does not. As such it is little surprise that the first item on the page is Microsoft Office, with Photoshop Elements 9 a little further down.

Sony's online service, PlayStation Network, is to finally be restored across Asia this weekend.
From tomorrow, users in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand will be able to access parts of Sony's PSN and Qriocity services, including login and password reset, friends lists, online play on both PS3 and PSP, PlayStation Home, and the Torne DVR peripheral's network functionality.
Polish studio CD Projekt has released the v1.1 patch for its new PC RPG The Witcher 2, which removes all DRM from the game.
Sony has admitted that work has begun on a new home console - but insisted that the enormous initial investment that it made into PlayStation 3 will not be repeated.
Speaking during an investor briefing - reported by Nikkei and translated by Andriasang - CFO Masaru Kato noted that reduced PS3 manufacturing costs had helped Sony over the past year. With that in mind, Kato said: "It is no longer thinkable to have a huge initial financial investment like that of the PS3."
