Revenue from sales of PlayStation Network games in the second half of last year rose by 40 per cent year on year, according to analysts.

Forecasting and Analysing Digital Entertainment (Fade) claims that PSN games grossed a total of $49.4 million in the second six months of 2010, and $9.3 million in December alone. The year on year increase far outstrips Microsoft’s offering, Xbox Live Arcade, which grew by just 18 per cent.

The Game Audio Network Guild (GANG) has announced a list of nominees for the 9th annual GANG Awards ahead of a ceremony at GDC next month.

GANG is a nonprofit organisation, set up in 2001 to “educate the masses in regards to interactive audio”, and acts as an online resource for those working, or aspiring to work in audio for games, websites, mobile phones, and other forms of interactive entertainment.
