Quarterly revenue driven by surge of iPhone sales.
Yesterday Apple announced the results for its fourth fiscal quarter this year, ending the week of September 25.
The US-based company says it achieved record revenue of $20.34 billion for the quarter, with net profit of $4.31 billion. This is an improvement on the same quarter last year, in which Apple achieved $12.21 billion revenue and $2.53 billion net profit.

Research firm predicts that international tablet sales will reach 19.5 million this year.
A study by US-based IT research company Gartner suggests that sales of media tablets – such as Apple’s iPad – will reach 19.5 million this year, with North America accounting for 61 per cent of those sales.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved using level editors. I got my start before I was even a teenager building Lode Runner levels on the VIC-20, by my mid-20s I was making levels in UnrealEd, and my first game industry job was as a level designer. The game level editor was at least as important to my personal creative development as was the word processor. I believe a good level editor can be as engaging and entertaining as a game itself and - when combined with a great game - has the potential to create a positive feedback loop between playing and creating.

Nintendo’s DS line holds first place in the Japanese hardware sales chart despite week-on-week declines.
The DS line of handhelds, comprised of DSi, DSi LL and DS Lite moved 50,038 units combined, in the week ending October 8, according to new chart information released today.
Sony’s PSP line, including PSP Go, managed 34,874 units combined. For individual models, the standard PSP system came in first place with 33,683 unit sales.
