Game sales bring in £2.875 billion compared to £3.31 billion in 2009; 360 narrowly outsells PS3.
Trade body UKIE has released figures showing that the UK games market shrank by over 13 per cent last year, reports MCV.
The game industry saw revenues of £2.875 billion, down on the £3.31 billion earned in 2009. It should however be noted that the figures do not include digital or pre-owned sales.

Series of breakthroughs give hackers full access to PS3 innards; mass piracy likely.
George “GeoHot” Hotz, the hacker who was part of the team responsible for the iPhone jailbreak, has discovered and released online the PlayStation 3 root key.
The root key has the final say on which code can and cannot be run on a PS3, meaning the system is now completely open to homebrew developers and, more worryingly, piracy.

Black Ops regains the high ground while Cataclysm descends.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops has climbed back to the top of the Nordic all-format software chart, covering Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, during the week ended December 18.
FIFA 11 moves up to second place, passing Gran Turismo 5 which holds fast at third. World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm, which occupied the top spot last week, falls to fourth position with the top five rounded out by Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Korean company GamePrix hints at PC support for Kinect in future.
Korean developer GamePrix has told website IncGamers that it intends to utilise Kinect in its PC game, Divine Souls. Though the game is a PC exclusive title, GamePrix claims that it will "resemble console games" due to the inclusion of a Tekken-style combat system and describes it as an "action fighter MMO".
