Infamous, Resistance Sequels Underway?

Evidence has emerged that sequels to Sucker Punch’s Infamous and Insomniac’s Resistance 2 are in the works.

Voice actor David Sullivan said in a recent Twitter post that he was auditioning for the lead role of Cole in a sequel to open-world action title Infamous, which launched exclusively for PS3 in May 2009.

GameStop Director Offloads $60.2 Million In Shares

GameStop director Leonard Riggio has sold 2.3 million shares in the US retailer, worth $60.2 million.

Following the sale, Riggio holds 9.1 million shares, or a 5.5 per cent stake in the company. He is also the founder and chairman of Barnes & Noble, which once owned GameStop. He holds a 31 per cent stake in the firm valued at around $369.1 million.

Spokespeople for GameStop and Barnes & Noble told Barron's that Riggio sold the shares for tax planning reasons.

September’s Top XBLA, PSN Games

Trials HD and TMNT: Turtles In Time Re-Shelled were September’s top-selling titles on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network respectively.

RedLynx’s Trials HD, which has sold over 300,000 copies since releasing on August 12, took the top spot on the XBLA chart for four out of five weeks during the month.

China Q2 Game Revenues Top $900 Million

Chinese online games revenues hit 6.18 billion yuan ($906m/£576m)) during the second quarter, up 39.5 per cent year-on-year, according to data released on Tuesday by research firm Analysys International.

Free-to-play games operator Tencent Holdings held 20.2 per cent of the market and generated 1.24 billion yuan in revenues, reports Reuters.

EA Chief To Keynote Unity Conference

Chief Creative Director Richard Hilleman will deliver speech about how new ways of playing videogames are creating new audiences.

His talk will lead Unite 2009, a conference dedicated to the increasingly popular 3D engine for browsers and iPhone that will take place October 27-30 in San Francisco.

Hilleman is a long-time EA employee who worked on the original Madden game and was instrumental to establishing the EA Sports label.

Flip range, in conjunction with book publishers Penguin and Egmont Press, will launch December 4.

Each cartridge will feature six to eight different books by various high profile authors. The first set of titles will include Enid Blyton’s Enchanted Wood series, B.Strange’s Too Ghoul For School series and Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series.

Flips are designed to feel like reading a book, with pages flipping over, but will feature various extra components, from unlockable bonus content, quizzes, sound effects and character profiles.
