On authenticity – I like that you ask if it’s ‘misuse’ to use a wiki for individual work. I wonder if we can link this to your point about structure (building more in at a later date) and argue that the wiki is built in collaboration with past and future selves? :)
Ownership – is that the wiki is outside the ‘walled garden’ or that you got to do some planting of your own? I’m just not convinced it is either the tech differences (affordances of the blog v affordances of the wiki) or the publicness (e.g. you could set the blog to public, or even move to another blog outside the Holyrood Park space). I wonder if instead it was the full act of creation – if that makes sense? – creating the space and the things within the space solely with your own intent in mind (whereas the blog was originally a course-based intention).
I am not sure about the 'misuse' of the wiki - wikis are generally perceived as collaborative spaces even though Wikipedia (a collaborative wiki per excellence) says they are just 'often' used in this way and 'personal note taking' is a permissible use too. But using a wiki in such a personal way obliterates the difference between the blog and the wiki - perhaps my space is an example of a blogowiki, 'bliki'? I like your idea of the wiki recording the dialogue between the past self and the present self - I could take it even further to the hauntological 'successive linking of presents' (Bayne, 2010:7).
As to the ownership, yes, perhaps it's the full engagement in act of creation that is the underlying reason subsuming all the others. I'm not a mother myself, but I can see some analogy to giving birth vs having to adopt a stepchild who might be nice but it's not your flesh and blood. I have updated the map to include that idea - thanks!
