Photograph taken from the steps that lead up to the Sultan of Oman's plane. Less obvious from this angle was all of the kit, and instructions still very much visible in the cockpit of this tiny plane.

Cleared and built in total in a stunning 9 months... In 1906... Which may explain the state of the concrete 109 years later...

It really was only a race track for 32 years... Thereafter they manufactured plane parts, added a runway and became a centre for aviation right up into the 1980s.

This was genuinely on the road as the chassis for a bus at the beginning of the 20th Century. And that wood is original. Taken at the London Bus Museum, Brooklands.

This wonderful car and fabulous driver (modelled by fellow wedding guests) took us on our wee ride on the historic banked Brooklands track! Brilliant and very fast, slightly terrifying, fun!
