A little over two years ago, I wrote about the ongoing cloud wars with all of the 800lb gorillas in the room jockeying for position. At the time, IBM and Amazon were having what equated to a public cage match battle over a cloud contract with the CIA (IBM Steps back from CIA deal) as well as various ad blitzes, including IBM running ads on buses in Las Vegas during Amazon’s premier re:Invent conference. Meanwhile, Gartner released their magic quadrant report on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), describing the market as still evolving and maturing. They placed Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure both high in the Leaders quadrant, with Amazon dominating the space. Gartner had many vendors in the Visionary quadrant (including IBM, Verizon, and Google), with most others (HP) relegated to the Niche Players quadrant.
In this blog I’ll show you how to guard routes in Angular 2 Router (currently at 3.0.0-beta.2). Let’s consider some scenarios that require a certain validation to be performed to decide if the user (or a program) is allowed to navigate to or leave the route: Allowed to open the route only if the user is authenticated and authorized to do so. Implement a multi-part form that consists of several components, and the user is allowed to navigate to the next form section only if the data entered in the current one is valid.

Okay, okay, that seems like an odd thing to say. But at a recent keynote, that came out of my mouth. In the press release, “Boeing Announces Data Analytics Agreements with Six Airlines,” Boeing announces that they are providing advanced analytic solutions to several airline customers including: All Nippon Airways (ANA) signed a renewal contract for Airplane Health Management (AHM) on its entire future fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft. ANA uses AHM tools to monitor their aircraft in real time and proactively manage maintenance operations more efficiently.
Amazon has gradually rolled out parts of its IoT offerings in the last year, but these are just the tip of the iceberg. In addition to optimizing their back-end AWS offerings, Amazon is laying the ground work to be a major force in IoT – especially in the connected home and office. Amazon is extending its reach by building on its dominant Cloud IoT platform, its Dash Button strategy, recently announced Replenishment Services, the Echo/Alexa voice recognition control platform, the 6-7 strategic investments of its Venture group, strategic partnerships with 50+ major consumer package goods companies and the 50-70 million current Prime customers to become a dominant force in IoT.
As the Big Data marketplace moves closer to a point of mass-maturity, business leaders have begun to take new approaches to implementation and utilization. Advanced analytics solutions have made their way into a range of industries and regions, and companies that successfully align these investments with core goals and requirements will enjoy more progressive improvements to operational sustainability, intelligence and general performance. However, there is some housekeeping that must be addressed as organizations embark on Big Data and analytics initiatives. Data preparation, information governance and security are three fundamental elements of effective analytics strategies, yet, ironically, each has been largely ignored by many organizations in the rush to realize the promise of Big Data.
